I got up early today to roast some fresh beans for Julia’s birthday. Each time I roast I feel I get a little better, which is an encouraging feeling. I’m also becoming less apprehensive about burning the beans so I can roast a bit more quickly (previously it was taking me far to long).

It smelled wonderful today, though I wasn’t as happy about the flavor, it seemed a little weak. After a little searching I found that it is best to let freshly roasted beans rest for about a day. Oh well, live and learn.
